Patrick Vallance, Chief Scientific Officer to the UK Government and Honorary Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society (former Chair of the COMPARE International Advisory Board) has received a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours. The award has been made for services to services to open clinical science.

Professors Steve Hill and Steve Watson, Co-Directors of COMPARE, said "We are absolutely delighted to learn of Patrick’s knighthood. It is thoroughly deserved in recognition of his huge contributions to pharmacology, cardiovascular biology, clinical science, pharmacology and drug discovery".
