We are also delighted to welcome Dr Samantha Cooper, as a COMPARE PI who joins from the University of Nottingham as an Assistant Professor of integrative cardiovascular molecular pharmacology. Sam was previously a COMPARE research fellow and training lead for a Wellcome Trust funded doctoral training programme at the University of Nottingham until she gained promotion to assistant professor in 2023. Sam has expertise in molecular pharmacological approaches that asses drug-receptor interactions and cellular signalling associated with receptor activation. She is also an expert in cardiovascular ex vivo and in vivo techniques, including Langendorff models, pressure myography, precision cut lung slices and Doppler Flowmetry, which she uses to asses cardiovascular responses to drugs that target G protein-coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases. Sam is currently growing her research groups and is on the look out for PhD students to join her team.
