Title:
Investigation of the role of seen papers in examinations and the construction of programme-level assessment
Project Overview:
The two Schools of Biosciences collaborated on a project examining strategies for using seen papers in exams and the construction of programme-level assessment. Birmingham subsequently trialled the use of seen papers in second and final year exams, sharing the outcomes of this pilot with Nottingham.
A strategy for feed-forward approaches for coursework, and methods of providing examination feedback to students, has also been piloted, and both institutions are considering how to take this forward.
