Learning Enhancements in Assessment and Feedback (LEAF)

Project Overview:

The two Schools of Biosciences worked together (and with the universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow) to enhance assessment and feedback strategies through a project called Learning Enhancements in Assessment and Feedback (LEAF). This examined assessment load and the optimal balance of formative and summative assessment.  Changes to assessment and feedback practices at both institutions have been made as a result, which have been welcomed by students.

This project was limited to a small number of disciplines, and a number of conferences were held to ensure the benefits were felt more widely across the Partnership and sector.
