Title:

Collaborative workshop on dynamic monitoring of membrane receptors using state of the art imaging

Project Outcomes:

A 2 day workshop was held to foster collaboration in the area of advanced imaging between researchers in the School of Biomedical Sciences and Centre for Biomolecular Sciences at Nottingham and Cardiovascular Sciences and Biosciences at Birmingham. Experts in the study of different classes of membrane receptors, their signalling and organisation, were brought together to exploit recent investments by both institutions in state of the art imaging technology.

This project led to a successful application for £30k of accelerator funding from the Strategic Collaboration Fund. It resulted in joint conference presentations and a further grant application for equipment, with plans in place for further applications and joint papers. This collaboration also led to the establishment of COMPARE, which was awarded £10m by the two universities in 2015 as the winner of the Signature Institutional Research competition,
