COMPARE is a unique collaboration between the Universities of Birmingham and Nottingham that brings together leading researchers to develop novel methods for visualising single membrane proteins and to use these to identify new approaches for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease and cancer angiogenesis.
The COMPARE Team Science Committee have put together an away day focussed this year on Management and Leadership skills and networking between members of COMPARE. This day will comprise of morning group activities, followed by an afternoon of talks from guests in industry.
This event is open to all members of COMPARE. Delegates are also invited to attend an ELRIG Networking event 'The evolution of drug discovery: an anti-inflammatory perspective' at Sygnature Discovery, BioCity in Nottingham NG1 1GR. https://elrig.org/portfolio/networking-events/ (Nottingham event).
The away day will be held in the Regency Room at the St James Hotel in Nottingham on Thursday 13th June from 09:30-16:30.

Those wishing to drive to St. James Hotel there is a private underground carpark with a very small capacity (10 cars) and spaces would need to be booked in advance with the hotel at a cost of £9.00 for the day. Alternatively, there is an NCP car park (St. James Street NCP) nearby which is £14.00 for the day.

For those coming from Birmingham, a coach will be reserved to transport members from Birmingham to the event in the morning, and will return after the event, leaving Nottingham at 17:00. Those members wishing to attend the ELRIG Networking event are welcome to take the bus in the morning but you will have to arrange your own travel back to Birmingham. Timings for the ELRIG event will be confirmed by ELRIG, but will likely run from 18:00 through to 21:00.
